Comprehensive Protection:?Protects against both Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) and Canine Parvovirus (CPV), including CPV strains 2a, 2b, and 2c.
Strong Immunity:?Contains high titers of live CDV and CPV 2b strains to induce strong immunity.
Effective with Maternal Antibodies:?Proven effective even in the presence of protective maternal antibodies.
Minimal Reactions:?Designed to minimize local and systemic reactions.?
2. Administration
Dosage:?1 ml, administered subcutaneously (SC) behind the shoulder blade.
Preparation:?The lyophilized vaccine needs to be reconstituted with the provided solvent and administered immediately after mixing.?
3. Vaccination schedule
A single dose of Biocan Novel Puppy vaccine can be given from 6 weeks of age. If maternally derived antibodies or protection against other diseases are concerns, this initial dose should be followed by a polyvalent Biocan Novel vaccine containing CDV and CPV three weeks later. Annual revaccination with Biocan Novel Puppy is suggested for protection only against CDV and CPV. For dogs on the full polyvalent schedule, revaccination against CDV and CPV with polyvalent Biocan Novel vaccines is recommended every 3 years.?
4. Side effects
A small, temporary swelling at the injection site is common and typically resolves within 14 days. Rare side effects include gastrointestinal issues, decreased activity, or occasional hypersensitivity reactions. Seek immediate veterinary attention for any serious reactions.?
5. Storage
Store the vaccine in a dark, dry place between 2?C and 8?C. Do not freeze and use immediately after reconstitution.?
Important Notes:
Consult a Veterinarian:?Always discuss the appropriate vaccination plan with a veterinarian.
Vaccinate Healthy Animals Only:?The vaccine should only be given to clinically healthy, well-nourished animals.
Maternal Antibodies:?High levels of maternal antibodies can interfere with the vaccine’s effectiveness. Consult your veterinarian for guidance on optimal timing.
Possible Transmission:?The live CPV-2b strain in the vaccine may be spread to non-vaccinated animals, although it is not reported to cause disease. Separation from other canine and feline species after vaccination is recommended as the strain has not been tested on other susceptible carnivores.
Professional Administration:?This vaccine must be administered by a qualified veterinary professional.
