Megavac-P (inactivated): This injectable vaccine contains a tissue culture-adapted strain of canine parvovirus inactivated with ?-propiolactone. It’s given subcutaneously or intramuscularly, with the first dose recommended around 6 weeks of age, followed by a second dose three weeks later, and annual revaccination. It’s considered a safer option for Parvo vaccination and can be used alongside other common vaccines. Immunity is established within 21-28 days.
Megavac-P-Nasal: This is an intranasal vaccine (administered into the nose) containing live attenuated canine parvovirus. It can protect pups as young as 4-6 weeks old and generates a mucosal immune response. Advantages of the nasal vaccine include faster immune response, higher safety, and convenience of administration.
