Description

Nobivac TriCat Trio is a modified live vaccine designed to protect cats against three significant and potentially severe viral diseases:
Feline Calicivirus (FCV): A common cause of upper respiratory tract infections, characterized by oral ulcers, sneezing, and ocular discharge.
Feline Rhinotracheitis Virus (FHV-1) (Feline Herpesvirus Type 1): Also known as feline influenza, it causes similar respiratory symptoms to FCV, including sneezing, coughing, and conjunctivitis.
Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPLV) (Feline Distemper): A highly contagious and potentially fatal disease that primarily affects the gastrointestinal tract and bone marrow, leading to vomiting, diarrhea, and a dangerously low white blood cell count.
How it works
Nobivac TriCat Trio stimulates the cat’s immune system to produce antibodies against these viruses, providing immunity against future infections.
Administration
The vaccine is administered by subcutaneous injection (under the skin).
The basic vaccination typically involves two doses given 3-4 weeks apart, with the first dose given to kittens aged 8-9 weeks and the second at 12 weeks or older.
Boosters are generally recommended annually for FCV and FHV, and every three years for FPLV, according to MSD Animal Health India.
Consult with your veterinarian to determine the appropriate vaccination schedule for your individual cat based on factors such as age, lifestyle, and overall health.
Side effects
Mild, temporary side effects may occur, including:
Slight swelling at the injection site.
Slight, temporary increase in body temperature.
Occasional slight discomfort.
Sneezing, cough, nasal discharge, dullness, or decreased appetite may be observed for up to 2 days after vaccination.
In rare cases, more serious reactions, such as allergic reactions or “febrile limping syndrome” in kittens, can occur. If such reactions are observed, seek immediate veterinary attention.
Note: Nobivac TriCat Trio is a prescription medicine and should only be administered by a qualified veterinarian.
