Description

Uses: Treatment and prevention of flea and tick infestations in dogs. It also treats some mite infestations, including Demodex and Sarcoptic mange.
Active Ingredient: Fluralaner, which is toxic to fleas and ticks.
Dosage: One 250 mg chewable tablet every 12 weeks for dogs in the 4.5 to 10 kg weight range.
Mechanism of Action: Fleas and ticks must attach to the host and begin feeding to be exposed to the active substance.
Onset of Effect: Kills fleas within 8 hours of attachment and ticks within 12 hours of attachment.
Duration of Action: Provides up to 12 weeks of continuous protection against fleas and ticks. Efficacy against lone star ticks may be up to 8 weeks.
Side Effects: Commonly observed adverse reactions (in about 1.6% of treated dogs) include mild and transient gastrointestinal effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, decreased appetite, and drooling. More serious neurological effects, such as seizures, are rare. It should be used with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurological disorders.
Contraindications: Should not be used in puppies less than 8 weeks of age or weighing less than 2 kg, or in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients.
